Student Poster Competition
Monday, August 26, 2024 |3-5 PM
The International Society for Concrete Pavements (ISCP) is excited to again offer a Student Poster Competition at the 13th International Conference on Concrete Pavements. The author of the best student poster presentation will be awarded the B.F. McCullough Award at the conference awards dinner and reception on Wednesday of the conference. This prestigious award is named after Professor B. Frank McCullough, University of Texas-Austin, who was a concrete pavement engineering pioneer in the U.S., and one of the first Honorary Members of the ISCP. During his time at the University, Professor McCullough was responsible for the conduct of more than 100 research projects, teaching, and advising more than 100 graduate students over a period of nearly 50 years.
Graduate and undergraduate college students are strongly encouraged to submit a poster describing their research in any area related to concrete pavements. Each student poster will undergo a two-step review process, including an initial review and acceptance of the entry (performed prior to the conference) and a final evaluation of the poster board and presentation at the conference. We ask that each student submit a statement of intent to submit a poster and a summary of financial needs to attend the conference before January 31, 2024. Please see the competition guidelines for the statement of intent form, important dates, and other key information.
Many students participated in the competition in previous conferences and the feedback from participating students, judges, and other conference participants was quite positive. Judges conducted thorough evaluations of the posters and the students gained great exposure, engagement and presentation experience. ISCP seeks your support and encourages graduate and undergraduate students to participate in this activity and to attend the conference.
Student membership in ISCP is free, and offers the students an opportunity for increased contact with academic and industry professionals, and access to technical resources. Membership registration and renewal is conducted online at https://www.concretepavements.org/join/.
